At Some Point it Will Be Warm Enough

I promise that at some point it will be warm enough for us to shed those winter coats. How about making a jacket that has flair. If you can handle a rotary cutter and have a little sewing experience, you can make this great jacket ( sizes small to ex-large). This jacket uses 2 1/2" strips. Make from batiks, flannels or homespuns. Every jacket will be one-of-a-kind.

Stripped-N-Stitched Jacket - $18.75

Happy Sewing,

Did you know that we have some wonderful ballet fabric available? If you do not have time to make this beautiful quilt, how about making a shoe bag from the ballet fabric.
Until next time,

My Favorite Glue Pen

I have to say the Glue Marker by Fons & Porter has to be my most favorite glue applicator of all times. The blue air-soluble ink allows me to see where the glue has been applied. The color fades as the glue dries. Because of the narrow applicator, I can be very precise. Refills are available.

Glue Marker - $7.69
Glue Refill - $4.40

Keep Quilting,

The Right Tool for the Job

Many quilters are making flannel rag quilts these days. They are quick and easy to make. But a number of quilters have been saying that their hands get tired when they are clipping. The right tool can make the difference.

Invest in the right kind of scissor (something that can do the layered cuts). We have three different scissors available for you to consider.

CLA18039 - $8" All Purpose Snips by Clauss (pictured) - S12.99
CLA22320 - 6.5" Rag Scissor by Clauss - $46.85
FP7827 Rag Scissor by Fons & Porter - $27.99

Have a great week,

It's Hip to Bee Square

This quilt reminds me of the song by Huey Lewis & the News (It's Hip to Be Square - in the 80's). But if you are looking for an interesting project to showcase fat quarters, you might want to consider this pattern. Four sizes are included. Use fat quarters(# depends on the size chosen) and two background fabrics. A great beginner project.

We have a great batik sample in the store. We also have a few kits all ready to go as well.

Canadian Retail of pattern - $8.39

An Interesting Book to Consider

A new book on paper piecing has arrived on our shelves this week. Author Mary Kay Mouton has created a revolutionay single-foundation technique that makes hard to piece blocks easy to assemble with perfect accuracy!
Can you imagine paper piecing an Attic Window Block with no "Y"-seams?
It's definitely a book to consider if you love paper piecing.
