Light Summer Reading

With Summer now upon us, it's time to get out of the sewing room and enjoy the beautiful rays of sunshine. Why not pick up some light summer reading quilter style.
Every Quilt Tells a Story is a collection of Helen Kelley's stories where she deals with the adventures of everyday life. With her trademark charm and wit, she draws in quilters and non-quilters alike as she discusses the joys of creativity, the challenges of repairing errant stitches, and the pleasures of friendship. The result is sometimes humorous, sometimes sobering, but always thought-provoking.
Retail Cost - $22.95
Happy Reading,
Kelly
P.S. We have a few other books like Every Quilt Tells A Story that you might like to read as well.

Fat Quarters...You Can Never Have Enough

Fat Quarters are a Quilter's Best Friend. It's a great way of experimenting with colours before you make an investment in a project. When ever you get a chance always try to pick up those "zinger" colours such as golds, reds, turquoises and oranges. You'll be amazed what a little "zing" will do for a project. Also, with so many patterns using fat quarters as their primary cuts, you can start a stash especially for fat quarter projects.

Happy Choosing,

Kelly

Over the River

Another great pattern that has recently come in from Crabapple Hill Studios is Over the River.
This hand embroidered designs depicts the saying "Over the River and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go." The details in the embroidery are amazing. The designer has done her's in black but you can do it in any color you wish. Very simple piecing makes this design a must do.

NEW!!!!!!

It is like Christmas at The Hobby Horse. New patterns are beginning to arrive from Quilt Market in Portland. I will show you some of our favorites over the next few weeks.
The first favorite for Gail and myself is from Crabapple Hill Studios. It is called Zelda's Fancy Hat. The hat is a full sized crazy quilted witch's hat. Some of the squares include a spider web with a spider, and bats. I think it would be great sitting in a entrance way ready to greet your trick or treater's on Halloween night.

Until next time
